Colour, Creativity & Baby Bibs: A Q&A with Australian Designer, Jade Fisher.
At Tilda & Moo, we’re all about celebrating creativity and colour, and our latest collaboration with Australian Artist, Jade Fisher, does just that.
In this Q&A, Jade shares the inspiration behind her playful designs, her creative process, and what makes this vibrant collection of baby essentials so special. From waterproof smock bibs to soft muslin swaddles, every piece is designed to bring art, joy, and practicality to everyday family life.

JADE, BEFORE WE DIVE INTO THE DETAILS OF OUR NEW COLLECTION, CAN YOU SHARE A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF FOR THOSE JUST MEETING YOU?
I'm originally from England, We moved to Sydney in 2005 and I now live in Gerringong with my husband and our 3 boys. Gerringong is a beautiful town on the NSW coast where the mountains meet the sea. I am an artist and I create original artworks that I sell through my amazing stockists in Australia. I also sell limited edition prints through my website. I am lucky enough to have had lots of collaborations come my way which has been so exciting. It's a dream to see my artworks come to life on fabrics and clothing. The heart behind my work just comes from wanting to create beautiful things. I'm inspired everyday by nature and colour. I have so many ideas flowing around my head and I just can't wait to let them spill onto the canvas. Life can be hectic with 3 boys in my house and so art is my way of finding calmness and slowing down.
WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION WHEN WE FIRST REACHED OUT ABOUT COLLABORATING IN THE BABY & KIDS CATEGORY?
There was definitely a happy dance. I love your brand so much. You always choose the loveliest prints so I was so happy that my artwork would get to be worn by all the cute little ones. I studied textile design at University so I think I always have fabrics in mind when I'm painting. Thats why it's always so fun when my prints end up on clothes or apparel.

WHAT INSPIRED THE DESIGN YOU CREATED FOR THIS COLLECTION?
I think just all the colours work so well together. They remind me of deckchair stripes and beach umbrellas at the beach on a sunny day. Full of fun and happy vibes.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE DETAIL IN THE ARTWORK DESIGN?
I just like how all the stripes and patterns are all irregular and not perfectly proportioned.
It gives a sense of freedom and playfulness, like a child's artwork.

HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE YOUR SIGNATURE ARTISTIC STYLE?
I think I'm more known for my florals but I love creating the 'patchwork' style paintings like this one. I think my use of colour is my signature. The bright pops of fluro combined with the pastel colours is thread that runs through all my different styles.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE PEOPLE FEEL WHEN THEY SEE THIS DESIGN IN REAL LIFE?
Hopefully they see joy, playfulness and fun.

WHICH IS YOUR PERSONAL FAVOURITE PRODUCT FROM THIS COLLECTION; CLASSIC BIB, TRIANGLE BIB, SMOCK BIB, BURP CLOTH OR SWADDLE?
I adore the swaddle and the triangle bib.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU'D LOVE TO SHARE WITH OUR COMMUNITY OF PARENTS?
A reminder to enjoy these special times when your babies are small. It can feel messy and like you're not in control and you're trying to get through the days. But now my babies are 10 and 14... I miss those days and I wish I'd cherished them more.
