In late December 2019, I reached out to Ocean Grove based graphic designer, Basically By Tarni, who ever so kindly created us 3 stunning exclusive designs for our Tilda & Moo X Violet’s Gift collaboration range.
For the past 12 months, Tarni has been my go-to girl, creating marketing materials for Tilda & Moo, as well as graphics that can be used on my social media & website too. She was the first person who came to mind to approach when this collaboration with Violet’s Gift landed in my inbox.

Meet Tarni.
Tell us a little about yourself & how Basically By Tarni began?
Basically, if you can’t tell from my name, I’m Tarni (Tarns, Tarn, Tarnington and everything in-between). A 22 year old graphic designer who has a passion for creativity, travel, good humour, good people and good food.
Basically By Tarni is a business I started whilst I was in university as a way of displaying my own work and eventually creating for clients. I am now in the process of growing a following, sharing my work and designing a range of work for clients, everything from branding, typography, advertising and social media content creation.
What inspired you to go down the path of graphic design?
Design is an industry sector that I have always loved and such an immense passion for. It just seemed right that this would be the pathway that I would choose for myself and so far, I don’t have any regrets.
Where did you land your first design job?
Upon completing my degree in Visual Communication Design, I landed myself a job at Paul Kelly Creative in Geelong as a junior designer and boy oh boy have I learnt lots. I have gained confidence in so many areas of design from developing new design skills in applications such as InDesign, Illustrator & Photoshop, and new ways of approaching particular briefs. I am constantly researching new ideas and ways to keep my style fresh and on trend and I am always on the lookout for other ideas that push my designs to a new level.
